Triangle Acrylic Disks

Disk Quantity Option:

• We now offer you the choice of purchasing a quantity of 1 disk or 2 disks per size. We always recommend purchasing 2 disks per size to get the most level edges; one disk will go on top of your tier and the other will go underneath it. However some bakers make the choice to only use 1 disk.
• Instructions for using 2 disks will be included in your package. If you choose to purchase 1 disk, a modification to the directions will be included.

These triangle disks are not made for any brand pan. They are equilateral triangles - each side measures the same and that will be the size selection you choose. For example, if you order a 6.25" triangle disk set, each side will be 6.25" long. The measurement is NOT from point to base.

Use one disk as a template to cut your cake. You will need to trim some additional cake off before icing with them.

What is the best size for me and my cakes?

We want to make sure that you are ordering the correct size disk for your specific cakes. Before you order, please make sure you measure your finished cakes to prevent having to exchange your disks for a new size. Feel free to call or email us with any questions.

Our general rule of thumb is:

• .5" sizing
  • For cakes that shrink LESS than 1/8" (or not at all,) AND you are NOT planning to cover with fondant
• .25" sizing
  • For cakes that shrink MORE than 1/8"
  • OR your cakes do not shrink, but you are planning to cover with fondant
• .00" sizing
  • For cakes that shrink MORE than 1/4"

Center Hole Option:

• All of our Acrylic Disks come with a 3/8" center hole. Baker use the holes to help them center their cake tiers on the disks by using a temporary dowel as they ice. The holes do not affect the performance of the disks should you choose not to use them.

Use the CakeSafe® Acrylic Disks to achieve perfectly crisp edges on each tier. Each set of the Buttercream Acrylic Disks includes 2 disks with the size engraved. Each disk is also etched with a center marking and line around the edge to help you center your tier.

We also offer the option of a 3/8" center hole in all our disks. Some customers prefer the center hole to help them center their cake tiers on the disks with the use of a dowel.
