About Us

CakeSafe® is a family owned and operated business in Wakefield, Rhode Island. Our mission is to manufacture the industry-changing cake delivery system, CakeSafe. Our vision is to put a CakeSafe in all of the finest cake bakeries in the world.

I am a graduate of Johnson & Wales Culinary Institute and my husband, Scott, is an engineer. We met in 1983 when I moved to RI for school, and we discovered our shared love for Rhode Island and life on the water. We also share a passion for using our talents to create.

I opened a successful wedding cake business over 30 years ago. In the early stages I realized that moving a large wedding cake is not a simple matter. It can be extremely stressful!

Scott came up with the idea for the original CakeSafe and built the first one in 1989. We are still using this prototype box today. Since we began using CakeSafes we have not had a single damaged cake due to transport. We have multiple CakeSafes in use for our business and we are able to move several cakes easily in one day.

We first marketed the CakeSafe in 2009, and the experiences we’ve had with the community and our customers is definitely a big part of our story now. We’ve had an overwhelmingly positive response from the baking and decorating industry far surpassing anything we could have imagined! The CakeSafe is now sold all over the world, and Scott has come up with several more inventive ways to improve the lives and working environments of bakers and decorators everywhere.
